For certification trainers

DARE for certification programs

Most certification programs are fixed syllabi taught to a clock: CEH, Security+, OSCP, CPENT, SC-200, AWS Security and the rest. They are strong on coverage and, almost without exception, thin on two things, watching the fix actually work and seeing the attack from the other side. That is precisely the gap DARE closes. You do not rewrite the syllabus. You resequence what you already deliver and add the perspective the curriculum left out.

How DARE fits any programme. You do not rewrite the syllabus. Take a hands-on objective, spend a few minutes on Deconstruct so the learner can explain the system before touching it, run the Attack the exam already expects, then add the two stages every syllabus skips: Remediate, where the same attack fails against a patched version, and Exchange, where the learner sees their attack from the defender’s seat. Pick a programme below and the planning assistant builds the whole thing, official module by official module, sized to the exact time you have and with the lab to run each on.

Foundational

CompTIA Security+

CompTIA · SY0-701

The industry's baseline certification. Broad, theory-first, and taught to very large rooms.

Where DARE helps. Security+ is almost all knowledge and almost no doing. DARE is how you turn a domain objective into a fifteen-minute session the room actually remembers, without adding to the syllabus.

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

EC-Council

A broad tour of offensive techniques and tools across many domains.

Where DARE helps. CEH covers enormous breadth but rarely lets a learner see the fix work or the attack from the defender's side. Add Remediate and Exchange to any module and it stops being a tool demo.

Offensive

OSCP

OffSec · PEN-200

The hands-on pentest benchmark. Learners already attack; that is the whole exam.

Where DARE helps. OSCP nails the Attack stage and skips the rest. Add a rigorous Deconstruct so learners read a box instead of running everything, and use the report as the Exchange, seeing the engagement from the defender's side.

CompTIA PenTest+

CompTIA · PT0-002

A vendor-neutral penetration testing certification, broader and more process-focused than OSCP.

Where DARE helps. PenTest+ spends real time on planning and reporting, which maps cleanly onto Deconstruct and Exchange. Use DARE to connect the tool sections to the report the learner has to write.

CPENT / LPT Master

EC-Council

Advanced penetration testing: pivoting, Active Directory, and multi-layer networks.

Where DARE helps. CPENT is where pivoting and AD finally matter. DARE keeps the advanced material honest by making learners explain each pivot and see it from the blue side before moving on.

eJPT / eCPPT

INE Security

Popular entry and intermediate hands-on offensive certifications.

Where DARE helps. Great first hands-on certs. DARE adds the Deconstruct rigor beginners skip and the Exchange perspective that turns a lab pass into real understanding.

Defensive & SOC

Microsoft SC-200

Microsoft · Security Operations Analyst

SOC analyst certification centred on Microsoft Sentinel and Defender.

Where DARE helps. SC-200 is strong on detection and native to the Exchange mindset. What it lacks is the Attack: let analysts run the very attack they are learning to detect, then write the rule.

CompTIA CySA+

CompTIA · CS0-003

Blue-team analyst certification focused on detection and response.

Where DARE helps. CySA+ teaches what to look for. DARE makes it stick by having learners generate the signal first, then detect it, then confirm the rule stays quiet on normal traffic.

GCIH / Blue Team

GIAC / Security Blue Team

Incident handling and blue-team certifications (GCIH, BTL1).

Where DARE helps. Incident handlers benefit most from the Exchange inversion: work the case, then sit in the attacker's seat to understand what they were seeing. DARE builds that in by design.

Cloud

AWS Certified Security – Specialty

Amazon Web Services

The benchmark cloud-security certification for AWS.

Where DARE helps. Cloud exams are heavy on service configuration and light on consequence. DARE gives the learner the breach a misconfiguration actually causes, then the fix, then the audit-log view.

Microsoft AZ-500

Microsoft · Azure Security Engineer

Azure security engineering certification.

Where DARE helps. Same shape as the AWS exam: strong on settings, weak on consequence. Use DARE to turn an IAM or secrets objective into a session where the learner sees the blast radius and the fix.

Forensics

CHFI / GCFA

EC-Council / GIAC

Digital forensics and incident-response investigator certifications.

Where DARE helps. Forensics training is naturally Exchange-heavy, reconstructing what an attacker did. DARE completes it by having the learner run the attack first, so the artefacts they hunt for mean something.
